What is A Sense of Wirth?

Perhaps our mission statement says it all:
A Sense of Wirth strives to promote the development of a "sense of worth" in all children, especially those who are deaf and deaf-blind, through education in language and the arts. Through development of multicultural identity and multilingual literacy, A Sense of Wirth's educational programs enable all students to access a higher quality of life.
While we have a long term goal to establish a training program for English as a Foreign Language teachers (hopefully deaf!) complete with curriculum and materials for teaching English to deaf students around the world, we have other projects we aim to see happen in the immediate future, such as making museums accessible for deaf people, grant programs for people with projects that fit our aim above.

Through a core staff of experienced professionals in various fields (including deaf and arts education, art history, linguistics, psychology, marketing and communications, business management), we are working on the little (but big) things such as the website, our brochures, publicity, and a logo contest (more information on that in another post). Once these little (but big!) things are set up, we can begin raising money to support our programs.
